The Tuition Set Aside for Financial Assistance notification is sent to all students, as required by state law, who are enrolled for courses at Texas State University-San Marcos for the current semester. This does not mean that if you are currently receiving financial aid that you will be receiving additional awards/disbursement or that you will be refunded a portion of your semester charges. This is strictly to advise students that a portion of the designated tuition that they paid may be allocated to financial assistance programs.
Your 1098-T form and financial information will be available online after January 31, 2012. Beginning with the 2010 tax year, the University changed reporting methods. The total amount billed for qualified expenses is now being reported on the forms, instead of the total payments made against qualified expenses.
